Thesis Title: Songs and Politics in Francophone Brittany, Lyonnais, and Quebec, 1663-1788
Aoife's research draws upon a body of over two thousand songs about politics in Brittany, Lyonnais, and New France (Quebec), from the incorporation of the latter into France as a royal province in 1663 until the eve of the French Revolution in 1788. Her thesis uses these songs as a lens through which the processes and dynamics of provincial politics can be more fully explored.
