Research

The Faculty of History at Oxford is one of the key research centres for history in the UK. Our academics have a wide range of interests and specialisms which shape the research projects and centres that the Faculty runs.

The Faculty currently has a number of research centres, covering themes such as Gender, Warfare and the History of Science and Medicine; the periods covered range from Late Antique to Modern. Geographically, the Faculty’s research centres mirror our excellence in teaching history on a global scale, with centres working on global history more generally as well as the history of the United States, Europe, Asia and Britain. We also host over thirty research projects, run (and supported) by our academics. As with our research centres, these projects cover a vast spectrum of themes, periods and geographical area and showcase the varied interests of our Faculty Members.
