Research Topic
Martial figures and their relationship with real and imagined animals in late medieval England 1250-1500.
I am interested in the entangled lives of people and animals. I focus on soldiers’ lived experience with animals and how they thought about them, bringing together embodied, historical animals and their place in the medieval imagination. My approach draws on material, cultural and environmental histories.
